Abstract

Online education has the reputation of having an ongoing problem with a high DFW (Drop, Failure, Withdrawal) rate. The solution to reducing the DFW rate for online courses isn't a magic bullet; it's a series of small steps that address course and program design as well as online pedagogy and instructor facilitation. With over 20 years of combined experience in online education this panel will engage the audience in a lively interactive discussion that will get to the proven steps to reduce DFWs and engage online students to help them become successful learners.
