Abstract

We are a Consortium of nine university Schools of Nursing located in Ontario and our mission is to deliver Primary Health Care (PHC) Nurse Practitioner (NP) Education to prepare NP-PHC Practitioner to enter our health system and support those in practice maintain their competencies. During the last 10 years, we have trained more than 1500 Nurse Practitioners across Canada and because our student cohort is geographically dispersed, the distance on-line education component has always been integral to our educational offerings. Our success across Ontario and across Canada is reflected by our students’ success – over 1500 nurse practitioners have graduated from our programs. We recently developed our own LMS using Wordpress and this implementation had a major impact on our students learning experience and it also offers a solid platform to our faculties to improve the way they develop their online course
