Abstract

Emerging technologies are expanding learning opportunities for students. Emergence of the Amazon Kindle DX wireless electronic reading device has opened up possibilities for students to engage course-based texts in new and unique ways. This paper describes a course in which students incorporate the Amazon Kindle DX wireless reading devices along with other technologies to create a paperless learning and instructional context. Research conducted throughout the semester examined how students engaged course-based texts while using the wireless reading devices.
