Abstract

Abstract: This study identifies recommended practices for successful professional development in technology for teachers. Through intensive literature research, a comprehensive online survey was delivered to providers (N=46) and receivers (N=154) of professional development in technology to determine if current practices reflected these recommendations. The findings indicate there was a significant difference between the majority of responses of the providers and receivers, particularly, in the areas of planning, implementation, follow up/support, effectiveness of planning and effectiveness of follow up/support. Results of the study led to the development of a Model of Effective Professional Development in Technology.
