This paper examines the prevalence of diabetes problems from a systems thinking perspective, a powerful method to analyzing and changing systems, by looking at systems from a broad perspective rather than just specific events or specific relationships within the system. Understanding how the system works and where it can be intervened or pertubated should enable a systemic change bringing the overall system to a state of equilibrium. With careful planning a systemic change is possible. Our attempt to create a systemic change within the current system is the design and implementation of an online educational intervention that can be put in place to balance the current system. A small change in behavior such as healthy eating habits or active lifestyle can impact others in the system. The burden of diabetes can be reduced if people start taking steps to change their eating habits and lifestyles, and maintain the positive changes to control it.
