Abstract

Ohio's Reading First grant supported the development of a statewide e-Learning initiative, e-Read Ohio. The charge of e-Read Ohio is to design and develop online courses for teacher professional development in literacy instruction. The program has expanded to include middle and high school teacher PD. It has also given professional development facilitators the capability to develop highly customized instruction based on data evaluation. This customization is made possible by the use of a learning objects workbench for professional development in reading.
