Supporting Tangible Interaction Development For Museum Edutaiment

A number of existing projects have explored the paradigm of Tangible Interaction for creating effective learning experiences in different contexts, including schools, museums, or outdoor environments. Current research has been mainly focused on developing new systems and new forms of user experience. Limited attention has been paid on making the development process of tangible interaction applications simple, fast, low cost, and sustainable. In this paper, we highlight that end-user development is a promising paradigm to address these issues. We focus on the domain of museum edutaiment, and discuss a prototype tool that supports non ICT professionals in the implementation and maintenance of game-based tangible interaction experiences for young visitors.
