Abstract

In 2006, the authors discussed Taiwan's e-learning in higher education and found that the e-learning in Taiwan's higher education only provides to traditional full-time students. With comparing of being a full-time student, short-term after school programs are more fits the needs of learners on flexible course content and schedule. This study investigated current status and trends of short-term after school institutions, guiding policies for short-term after school institutions, difficulties on e-learning implementation for short-term after school institution, and generated suggestions to address these questions. With similarity of educational value and believes in Asia's countries. This paper is of particular value not only for policy makers and the short-term after school institutions in Taiwan, but also for e-learning venders and developers who would like to extend e-learning business to the Asia countries.
