Abstract

This presentation focuses on the implementation of Blackboard as an online delivery system with 20 teachers in a high school in a southern state. Descriptions of the stages, problems faced in the study and also positive results and misconceptions are addressed. The study concentrates on implementing Blackboard from a more general point of view: as a means to provide sustainable professional development for in-service teachers. Based on this research, recommendations on how to introduce and implement blackboard effectively at the high school level are provided.
