Abstract
Individual student assessment and program evaluation has become a crucial aspect of higher educational degree programs. Students enrolled in the online M.Ed. in Educational Technology as Northern Arizona University are required to develop a capstone portfolio that provides a demonstration of their skills, understandings and reflection of their experiences. This paper details the iterative design, development, and implementation process of the ePortfolio system that utilizes student portfolio for learning as well as student assessment of learning (Barrett, 2004) for students within their capstone experience. In addition to providing evidence of each individual student's accomplishments, this ePortfolio system also collects data that provides for evaluation of the online M.Ed. in Educational Technology Degree Program.
