Abstract
An institutional wide blended learning community is considered a fundamental part of a strategy aimed to move an institution from a set of isolated micro-communities to a scenario where flexible and blended learning are relevant paradigms. Such a transition may be accomplished by driving a co-evolution path where state changes that occur in ICT supporting tools and the community are mutually dependent. In this paper we propose a methodology for building an institutional wide blended learning community ; it has been developed on the base of a three years experience we have made at the Faculty of Engineering of the University of Calabria and it outlines the role that an academic institution plays in the comprised community building initiatives.
