Abstract
Library query search results provide users with book locations in the form of a library classification index answer e.g. QA54.E45. We present a 3D navigational Aid model which can be applied in libraries which adopt a classification system. Currently, libraries have a database which contains each books shelf number. We build on this information and construct a 3D model which interactively navigates through a model of the physical library and guides users to the appropriate shelf on each bookcase. There is enormous potential in such a model as it will be possible to revise the system with little effort for new Library buildings. The modelling of the physical structure will change but the underlying principles of small animations connected to a database of publications, will remain the same.
