Abstract

Social presence in online courses has been shown to positively affect student success. Building a sense of community and collaboration among participants in online courses can contribute to social presence. Technology tools can provide opportunity for communication and interaction in online courses. Varying avenues of communication and interaction will be discussed in regard to how they relate to social presence in online courses.
