Abstract

The purpose of this study is to introduce the implementation of ARCS model of motivation into English as a Foreign Language classroom through the use of BeeDance―a learning management system for iPads. In this study, the research findings about the changes the learning activities through BeeDance have brought into the EFL classroom are discussed. First of all, the theoretical backgrounds of ARCS model of motivation are explained. Secondly, the technological features about BeeDance system are introduced. Thirdly, the innovative classroom materials and questionnaires created for this study are presented. Then, the studies are conducted to find out whether the learning activities through BeeDance have really facilitated ARCS model of motivation towards learning and analyzed how active and in what aspects the learners have changed. Finally, the changes in learners’ motivation and interests are discussed followed by the confirmation of ARCS model and future possibilities.
