Abstract

There is a need to promote teaching computational thinking in K-12 classrooms. However, what is the best pedagogy for promoting computational thinking is still a research and unanswered question (National Academics, 2011). In this paper, we present a professional development working session on computational thinking that utilizes writing to document the process of computational thinking in order to solve complex teaching problems. Through the working session, we explicitly and deliberately taught the computational thinking process and the participating teachers engaged in the process and effectively collaborated to approach complex teaching problems.
