Tablets in the Mathematics Classroom

, Kean University, United States

Kean University . Awarded

This project is designed to evaluate the effectiveness of using a class set of tablets (specifically Apple iPad 2 tablets) in the mathematics classroom. The initial goal had two main objectives: (1) to trade most of my current technological gadgets for one: the Apple iPad 2; and (2) to add new technologies to which students can explore math. This will drastically reduce the cost of implementing individual technology components into the classroom. It should also reduce the time it takes to learn different technologies, and hopefully, reduce teacher fears that result from having to learn new technology.
