Abstract
This paper provides an introduction to a three-part videotape series demonstrating the application of the 16PF Couple's Counseling Report (Russell, 1995) to the assessment of a couple. As a context for this project, research is briefly reviewed on the effectiveness of multimedia presentations in the learning process. Emergent research is presented regarding the dual-mode instruction approach (employing both auditory and visual channels for information presentation) and its overarching influence on learning. This is followed by a discussion of the practical and creative methodology incorporated in the development of a collaborative videotape project (a dual-modality approach). This videotape series demonstrates the process of using the 16PF Couple's Counseling Report with both spouses individually (tapes 1 and 2) and then jointly (tape 3).
