Abstract

This paper presents the design and development considerations of GAIA, a curriculumbased, open-ended educational software, which is based on the use of multiple representations and direct manipulation, implemented through different software components. Additionally, it highlights the educational scenarios underlying the development of GAIA, as well as the use of three-dimensional representations in this context.
