This paper describes an approach to design and implement innovative pedagogical designs to be implemented in heterogeneous educational and technical settings reflecting the actual situation in Europe, where this work is focused. This approach is based on an iterative methodology that produces descriptions for lesson plans that can be carried out in different types of schools. A set of new technologies are deployed to support the deployment of these new educational scenarios in practice. Given the heterogeneity of the technologies available across Europe and the competences to use those technologies, a dedicated intelligent recommender system based on the use of semantic web technologies has been implemented. This paper is focused on the description of the main decisions taken regarding this recommender service.
