Providing Effective Assessment Through Technology

The assessment of the effectiveness of instruction is an ongoing concern in today’s schools. This proposal reviews the role that technology can play in making formative assessment an affordable option. The advantages and disadvantages of formative and summative assessment are reviewed. The role that formative assessment can play in preparing tomorrow’s work force is considered. Suggestions are made for implementing an effective formative assessment system.
