Abstract
The research works carried out at the Multimedia Laboratory of the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya are directed to the improvement of the performance of the products, they have concentrated on the optimization of the development process in the design phase. The current work seeks to complement the design efforts with the contribution of solutions focusing on the content and it is framed within a research project that is in its initial stage, and whose objective is to develop a structured information model for the design of hypermedia applications in education. The purpose of this work is to carry out the structural analysis of some hypermedia applications, which will allow the establishment of criteria and guidelines to organize the contents in elements of information, and to represent the structure by means of the hierarchy of these elements.
