Abstract

The ESOL endorsed program in a south region in the United States requires students to take either five independent ESOL courses or two condensed ESOL courses with an integration model. No matter in which approach, technology is always considered as a powerful tool to be used to enhance the effectiveness of instruction and learning. A survey on various uses of technology to improve teaching and learning was conducted among students who took an ESOL endorsed course in fall 2014. In this presentation, the authors analyzed the survey data, discussed the effectiveness of utilizing technology in teaching and learning, and provided suggestions for integrating technology in an ESOL endorsed program to pursue more effective instruction and learning.
