Abstract

This paper is a report of the interactive computer-based business simulation game developed at the Vienna University of Technology which covers the topics production planning, production control, scheduling, material management and cost calculation. Participants receive the opportunity to transfer their theoretical knowledge into a "real world" firm in a creative and safe learning environment. For further development of the computer-based business simulation the Department of Computer Science and Business Informatics at the University of Vienna was involved to ensure continuous development of a reusable IT-based infrastructure using a J2EE component based n-tier software architecture.
