This paper describes the aims of the GenBiLL project (Generic Biochemical Learning Laboratories). It describes the systematic generic construction of virtual biochemical laboratories and addresses the questions: How can New Media help to improve biochemical laboratory education and how can the enormous expense to create such Media be reduced. To provide answers the two project parts ViSeL (Virtual DNA Sequenc-ing Laboratory) and Laborator (Laboratory Generator) were realized. Here the main results of these projects are presented.
