Abstract

With this paper we present SAIDE, a new product based on a simple, yet new, approaches to an authoring tool for use in remote-site training. There is a description of SAIDE and the software is contrasted with the Aspen and Macromedia Authorware virtual producer tools. A market analysis is set forth and a discussion of market placement is presented. The target audience for SAIDE will also be addressed, and we place the tool within the current milieu containing learning tools, Learning Management Systems (LMS), Learning Corporate Management Systems (LCMS), and Virtual Classrooms. The implementation of SAIDE is fully completed and will be presented here in terms of strategic and design aspects only. The goal of this paper is to introduce SAIDE, with its simplified interface, "use anywhere" methodology, and overall ease of use in any distance education environment.
