iTree : The mobile phone software for visualizing the learner's interaction on BBS

We developed the BBS support software called iTree. iTree can visualize the current status of learner's interaction on BBS in order to facilitate learner's participation in online discussion on BBS. It is the JAVA software working on the mobile phone that each learner has. In Japan, because most young people have their own mobile phone. iTree can visualize the current status of the interaction of BBS on the top screen of mobile phone. When learners use mobile phone, They always see tree image on the top screen. The interaction status of BBS is represented as a growing tree. The more learners write and read messages, The more a Tree grows. When learner see this tree growing, they can get the chance and timing to send and read messages on BBS. So, Learners are expected to write and read more messages on BBS.In this paper, I would like to report the research background, the function of iTree.
