Abstract

Distributed educational applications have become very popular and are being used to support cooperative and collaborative activities. This paper shows that a new model for distributed computing, Peer-to-Peer (P2P), accommodates the process of building distributed educational applications. We review existing educational applications created using various P2P frameworks, and describe APEX, an application we have built using the JXTA P2P framework.
