Abstract

Due to their integrative nature, we advocate that Web applications can provide a unifying framework to the course offerings of the Information Engineering Technology program at the University of Cincinnati's OMI-College of Applied Science. We believe that Web applications can provide a solid foundation for IET education since several IT technologies can be taught within such a framework, including: Programming, Database, Multimedia, Networking, and Client-Server Systems concepts. Web applications can also be used for the development of Senior Design Projects as well. That in turn will enable IET students in acquiring the advanced technical IT skills that are highly sought after by their future IT employers.
