Abstract
Adventure Learning (AL) has inspired students all over the world. AL is a hybrid distance education approach that provides students with opportunities to explore real-world issues through authentic learning experiences within collaborative learning environments (Doering, 2006). This brief paper shares valuable lessons learned as a result of multiple AL pilot expeditions that highlight local spaces. AL@ is the coupling of AL and place-based education. AL@ represents the cutting edge of technology, education, and adventure, and extends beyond previous definitions of AL by highlighting connections and relationships to place that empower students and teachers to explore the questions, “where will you AL@?”
