Abstract
The purposes of this paper are to (1) discuss the role of negotiation in the Web-based collaborative learning environment, (2) explore and investigate student experiences collaborating with peers of diverse backgrounds in a collaborative learning model, (3) examine and describe design features of a Web-based course model that facilitated and/or inhibited negotiation, and (4) discuss future implications for integrating technology into curriculum targeted to global learning populations.
