Abstract
The purpose of this study is to understand the practice of facilitating online MBA courses at a Midwestern university which has already established a highly successful traditional MBA program. The study explores the impact of online facilitation as an effective instruction tool on several key components of online learning, including online learning activities, social presence, and teamwork. The research utilizes surveys, interviews, and document analyses of online class assignments and discussions. The findings indicate that the instructors in this program have exhibited certain levels of facilitation skills and provided a satisfactory experience for online learners. However, several issues arising from the study indicated that the faculty and students both need to have more guidance and support technologically and pedagogically to make a more engaging and fruitful online learning environment.
