Abstract
Connectivist learning is learning through connections and networking. Although it is yet to be widely accepted as a new learning theory, compared to three existing learning theories known as cognitivism, constructivism and behaviorism, it has, in our view, revealed an important mechanism of learning that is, making connections and establishing networks of learners, teachers, tools, concepts and knowledge. It has some important pedagogical value for the design and delivery of online courses, which have now been offered by more and more universities, colleges and schools, and taken by more and more students at all levels of studies. In this paper, we will explore and report nodes and connections that are needed for implementing connectivist learning in online education.
